Use of Technology in English Language Teaching

In a non-native context like Bangladesh, use of technology in English Language Teaching is a practical way to get the students involved in learning the language. "Motivation" is an important issue for learning any language and the use of multimedia technology in language teaching and learning promotes the interest of the students. The use and popularity of English are expanding worldwide day by day, this evolves the need of change in English teaching methods. And as the world is getting tech-centered gradually, the best way to meet the need is developing multimedia oriented teaching method. Multimedia oriented teaching will not only increase students interest in learning but also will save their time.

The concept of cloud computing enables a person to join a lecture or discussion without being physically present at the class. The students can interact with the teacher and can learn things being in their home and thus, they can use the time of commuting in other productive works. In a heavy traffic affected context like Dhaka, this method will surely be a blessing for the majority of the students.
